EXECUTIVE COMMITTEE
Get to know us!

LAETITIA DORLAS
President
Hi! I’m a 4th year chemist and I’m passionate about striving for complete equality and inclusivity in all aspects of society. I love the energy that’s created when ambitious and inspirational women come together and aim to spread this amongst our university community in order to empower, inspire and encourage as many people as we can

I’m the Treasurer for Women in STEM and I’m a third year (direct entry) Maths and Statistics student. After I graduate, I want to go into finance - probably into investment management or quantitative trading. I have particular loves for Strictly Come Dancing , the Great British Bake Off and Formula 1 .

Subject Representatives
To make sure we are able to reach every every area across the STEM network we have subject representatives who promote the society within their subject and liaise with the executive committee to put forward any ideas for their own schools

BIOLOGICAL SCIENCES
Lauren Hinks
I am a fourth year Biochemistry student from Brighton. I joined the committee so I could play a role in making the world of STEM a warmer and more inclusive space, where there is equal opportunity and recognition for everyone. Outside of my studies I love to travel, paint and have recently taken up climbing.

ENGINEERING

ENGINEERING
Alannah Trimble
I study Civil Engineering, but have a particular interest in the Fire Engineering courses offered by the university. Whilst at university I’ve encountered so many likeminded female engineering students like myself, during my placements as a fire engineering intern, there was only one senior female member of the team. In industry there is an under-representation of women in senior roles, and so I got involved in the Women in STEM society to promote more women like myself within the industry.

GEOSCIENCES
Lucy Kingwell-Meader
I'm one of the Geoscience reps this year, studying Geology and Physical Geography! I'm a firm believer in aiding women in STEM, and am so excited to be a part of EUWiSTEM. I love yoga and singing, although seem to spend all my time in the JMCB this year!
INFORMATICS
Malavika Venkatesh

MATHS
Rhona Kiernan
I’ve been a member of EUWiSTEM since I came to uni. I wanted to join the committee this year so that I could have a part in organising events and seeing behind the scenes, as well as having the opportunity to meet a variety of brilliant women. Outside of STEM, I enjoy running and hillwalking, trying new foods, and watching sci-fi films.
MATHS
Nia Indigo Allen-Cooper
I'm Nia Indigo, but most call me Nia, and I study Mathematics. I wanted to join the committee because I wanted to have a supportive network of women to collaborate with
PHYSICS
Juliette Martin

PHYSICS
Hollie Marks
I’m a 4th year Physics student, and have always been passionate about the lack of diversity in STEM. I am passionate about science communication and environmental issues and I look forward to combining these interests to push for better representation in science. There are many marginalised groups that are currently left out of the conversation and groups like WiSTEM continue to work on increased inclusion in both education and academia.
OUR POSTGRADUATE REPRESENTATIVES

HEIDI JO
Postgraduate representative

MARIA FERNANDA VARGAS
I'm an Engineer and currently I'm doing a MSc Marketing and Business Analytics.
I have actively worked in my company by encouraging other women to venture into leadership positions and to be more involved in the technology areas.
Last year, with women engineers from the Universidad de Chile, we founded a group called “Mujeres STEM”, which is a support network that works to improve opportunities, formation and management options for Chilean women within our industry.
